The directive has been issued to principals and directors of colleges and institutions in Pune, Ahilyanagar and Nashik districts ahead of the 2026 winter examinations.

The university’s Board of Examinations and Evaluation has constituted a five-member committee to inquire into lapses in examination-related work. The committee will submit its report and recommendations to the vice-chancellor, following which the director of the board will initiate action against those found responsible, as directed by the vice-chancellor.

According to the university, several faculty members appointed as question setters, examiners, moderators, external senior supervisors and flying squad members during previous examinations failed to report for duty citing various reasons. Such absenteeism had affected the evaluation of answer sheets and delayed the declaration of results.

The university has now directed colleges to immediately relieve faculty members appointed for examination duties for the period of their assignment.
