TET scam: Salary of Maha minister Sattar’s two daughters withheld
Though minister for agriculture Abdul Sattar claimed that his two daughters failed to clear TET, the education department has withheld their salaries
Even as minister for agriculture Abdul Sattar previously claimed that his two daughters failed to clear Teachers Eligibility Test (TET), latest list released by the education department finds their names among 576 teachers whose salaries have now been withheld.
The education department had last week released list of 576 primary teachers whose August salaries were withheld. According to the list, Heena Kausar Abdul Sattar Shaikh and Uzma Nahid Abdul Sattar Shaikh were employed at National Urdu Primary School at Silllod in Aurangabad.
According to Dinkar Patil, director, primary education, said that around 576 primary school teachers and 447 secondary schools teachers have been identified who were allegedly involved in the malpractice
“Their ‘Shalarth IDs’ have been frozen and their salary from August this year will be stopped.
“Respective zonal officers should take the necessary action. If these candidates are given salary, then appropriate action against them will be taken,” Patil said on Monday.
These 576 teachers are among the 7,880 candidates the state education department disqualified in July and barred them from reappearing for TET for alleged malpractices. These 7,880 names included Abdul Sattar’s four children.
Sattar had claimed that he was unaware how names of his children appeared in the list of disqualified candidates.
The four are Huma Farheen Abdul Sattar Shaikh, Heena Kausar Abdul Sattar Shaikh, Uzma Nahid Abdul Sattar Shaikh, and Mohammad Aamir Abdul Sattar.
Minister Sattar had previously denied any wrongdoing and claimed that he would seek an inquiry to find out how the names of his children appeared in the list of disqualified candidates.
“This is an attempt to defame me. A probe should be ordered and if anyone from my family is found guilty, take action against them. If they are innocent, there should be action against those involved in defaming me,” Sattar had said.
