Two individuals have been arrested and 11 others booked in connection with a brutal attack on a youth in Pune. The attack is believed to be a result of previous rivalry and personal enmity.
PUNE The city police arrested two individuals and booked 11 in connection with a gruesome attack on a youth that took place on Senapati Bapat Road on October 22.

The attack is believed to be a result of previous rivalry and personal enmity, as per police.
The accused have been identified as Aniket Chandane, Prajot Umale, Harshad Chandane, Pratik Phalake, Yash Gopnarayan, Ayush Landage, Pranay Gogale, Rushi Khod and three others who were booked by Chaturshringi Police.
Gopnarayanand and Khod were arrested and a search is underway for the other accused, said police.
On Sunday, the victim Aniket Nanaware, along with Vijay Tayade and others went to offer Toran at Chaturshringi Devi temple. While returning from the temple, a group of people intercepted Aniket over their old rivalry.
Accused, Umale allegedly threatened the victim to kill and all others started beating him up with sharp weapons. In which the victim sustained severe head injuries.
Police said, the accused created terror in the locality by waving weapons in the air and threatening people not to intervene otherwise they would have to face dire consequences.
A case has been registered at Chaturshringi police station under sections 307, 323, 141, 143, 144, 147, 148, 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other relevant sections.
