Riyan Parag added respectability to the RR score as his 50 (49) took the team’s total to 115/9 in 20 overs.
Young Rajasthan Royals batsman Riyan Parag entered Indian Premier League (IPL) history books after slamming his maiden fifty against Delhi Capitals at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday.

Parag added respectability to the RR score as his 50 (49) took the team’s total to 115/9 in 20 overs. Only three players managed to score in double digits, including Parag, as Rajasthan batsmen had a forgettable day in the middle.

At 17 years and 175 days, Parag became the youngest player to score an IPL fifty. Earlier, Sanju Samson and Prithvi Shaw were tied at the top spot in this particular list.

Veterans Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra scalped three wickets each to help Delhi restrict Rajasthan to 115/9. Ishant (3/38) did the early damage before leg-spinner Mishra (3/17) came to the party to rock Rajasthan’s innings.
Young Riyan Parag (50 off 49, 4x4s, 2x6s) was the lone bright spot for Rajasthan as he held on to one fort and notched up his maiden IPL fifty to take the visitors close to the 120-run mark.
Parag opened up late and smacked Ishant for two fours to pick up 18 runs off the 17th over and then smashed Boult for two sixes in the final over before perishing in the last ball of the innings.
