Dinesh Chandimal to captain Sri Lanka, Jeevan Mendis returns for Bangladesh Twenty20s
Sri Lanka’s squad will be captained by Dinesh Chandimal and it sees the return of Jeevan Mendis for the two Twenty20 Internationals against Bangladesh which begin on February 15 and 18.
Sri Lanka named a 15-member squad captained by Dinesh Chandimal for next week’s Twenty20 matches against Bangladesh.
Angelo Mathews, who normally captains the islanders in limited-overs cricket, has been ruled out with a hamstring injury for the rest of Sri Lanka’s tour of Bangladesh.
Jeevan Mendis, who last played for the Sri Lankan team during the 2015 World Cup encounter against Afghanistan in Dunedin, makes a return while Asitha Fernando, who played an ODI against Zimbabwe in Hambantota, has also been included.
The two T20 matches are slated for February 15 and 18 following a two-match Test series.
