Former Virender Sehwag has thanked Sachin Tendulkar for helping him to acquire a BMW 730Ld car.
Sehwag posted a picture of himself standing beside the car and thanked his former teammate and batting partner for it. Sehwag wrote on Twitter, “Thank you @sachin_rt paaji and @bmwindia .Grateful for this !” (sic).
Contrary to the reports that Tendulkar gifted the car to Sehwag, the latter seems to have purchased it.
“Glad you bought the car of your dreams!! They have been my favourite cars for a number of years. Sheer driving pleasure!! #BMW,” Tendulkar wrote in his reply.
According to a report in Overdrive, the car is worth Rs.1.14 crores.
Tendulkar and Sehwag have remained friends even after retirement. They often indulge in friendly banter on the social media platform.
Tendulkar’s fascination for BMW cars is widely known, and apart from being the brand ambassador of the German car manufacturing company, he is also known to possess some of the finest personalised cars from them.
After India’s impressive show in the 2016 Rio Olympics, Tendulkar had gifted BMW cars to PV Sindhu (silver medal), Sakshi Malik (bronze medal), Dipa Karmakar and former badminton player Pullela Gopichand. Once again, contrary to the common belief, Tendulkar had only handed them the keys of the cars.
In 2012, after winning the bronze medal in London Olympics, Saina Nehwal was also gifted a BMW car by Tendulkar.
