Siraj back in the attack and he starts the over tidy. Rahul tries to play the paddle but it doesn't come off. All he manages to get is a single.

18 off the over from Harshal Patel
An expensive over from RCB fast bowler Harshal Patel as KL Rahul finishes the over with a third boundary-hitting shot. The Punjab Kings captain moves to 71 off 51, taking the team total to 150/5. Two overs left in the innings. Harpreet Brar has moved to 17 off 11 balls.

SIX: Harpreet Brar gets going
Four and a six, Harpreet Brar gives Punjab Kings going. That's the first boundary in 40 balls. From five fours in six balls to no fours in 39 deliveries. Oh how fortunes can change in T20 cricket.

RCB have come back in some style
The RCB spinners are on a role. What can they conjure as the innings enters its final phase?
Apr 30, 2021, 20:48:37 IST
Five overs to go
At one stage, Punjab Kings were looking at 200-plus, but wickets have fallen like dominos. And with five overs to go, the onus is now on their captain KL Rahul to go on and get a big one.

Live, Another wicket for RCB
OUT! Another one goes. Yuzvendra Chahal cleans up Shahrukh Khan for a duck. From 99/1, PBKS have slipped to 118/5, losing four wickets for 19 runs. What a comeback from RCB. It all began with that Gayle wicket and RCB are now at their ruthless best. Pressure mounts on Rahul as he runs out of partners.
Apr 30, 2021, 20:40:06 IST
Another wicket, RCB roar back
OUT! Another wicket goes down for PBKS as Hooda falls. Another failure for the batsman. Brilliant start from Shahbaz Ahmed, who strikes in his first over. Hooda tries to hoick the ball over the ropes but ends up being a simple catch for Rajat Patidar. PBKS are 4 down for 117 after 14 overs.
Apr 30, 2021, 20:32:28 IST
OUT! Fourth duck for Pooran
What is happening with Nicolas Pooran in IPL 2021. He is out for his fourth duck of the season after the ball takes the shoulder of his bat and goes to Shahbaz Ahmed at point. Things not happening for Nicholas Pooran. PBKS 107/3

100 up for Punjab Kings
11 overs gone and Punjab Kings have reached 100/2. Brilliant recovery after they were kept quiet in the first four overs. Even though Gayle missed his half-century, he provided PBKS the impetus they needed. Surely, Punjab Kings must target 200 and more from here with nine overs to go.

WICKET! Gayle departs
OUT! The short ball gets Gayle. He misses his fifty, goes for 46. Short ball dies the trick. Hurries on to Gayle, who tried to put it away on the leg side but manages a faint edge. The ball lobs in the air and AB de Villiers takes one of the simplest catches he's ever taken. PBKS 99/2.

PBKS vs RCB Live: Sams to Rahul - SIX
Rahul will take those gifts 24 hours a day. Full ball, outside off, in the slot and the mid off fielder is off. Rahul can dispatch those with his eyes closed. With eyes open, that would go for six 11 out of 10 times. Brilliant strokeplay this.
Apr 30, 2021, 20:20:18 IST
Sams returns
Need of the hour. After the last few overs went for some runs, RCB skipper Kohli has turned to Daniel Sams, who bowled a terrific opening spell.
Apr 30, 2021, 20:16:36 IST
Rahul goes big again
Strays it down legs and Rahul gives it the full toll. After Gayle, Rahul has switched gears to mount pressure on RCB. Chahal goes for 13 off his second after his first over yielded 15 runs. PBKS 83/1 after 9 overs.
Apr 30, 2021, 20:14:35 IST
Chahal to Rahul: FOUR
Gives himself some room and Rahul places the ball beautifully wide off the fielder at short third man for his third boundary of the innings.
Apr 30, 2021, 20:12:54 IST
Chahal seeking answers
Yuzvendra Chahal hasn't been at his wicket-taking best for RCB this season, but he has a big task at hand as he bowls to Gayle and Rahul tonight. He's slowed down his speeds in the second over. Can he make something happen?
Apr 30, 2021, 20:10:31 IST
50 partnership up for Gayle and Rahul
Didn't Gayle just come out to bat? Well, that's what he does. The pair takes just 27 balls to bring up their 50-run partnership. Punjab Kings reach 70/1 after 8 overs.
Apr 30, 2021, 20:08:34 IST
Harshal Patel to Rahul: FOUR
Rahul says it's enough playing spectator. In comes Harshal Patel and the PBKS skipper dispatched the second ball of the over for a four.

PBKS vs RCB, Live: Strategic time out taken
RCB sure can do with a breather after how the last two overs panned out. The last two overs have accounted for 20 and 15 runs respectively, and enough to give PBKS a move on after their slow start in the first four overs.
Apr 30, 2021, 20:04:12 IST
Chahal to Gayle: 6, 6
Alright then. Chris Gayle is in the mood. After cracking five fours off Jamieson's last over, he takes on leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for two sixes in the over. The first one was as flat as they come. The second, not so much as the ball sails over long-on for half a dozen. PBKS 64/1 after 7 overs.
Apr 30, 2021, 20:02:07 IST
20 off the over from Jamieson
Having given just 3 runs in his first over, Kyle Jamieson has leaked 20 off his second with Gayle hitting him for five fours in the over. PBKS 49/1 after 6 overs as the Powerplay concludes.
Apr 30, 2021, 20:00:25 IST
Four 4s in a row
Chris Gayle is putting on a show as he hammers Kyle Jamieson for four fours in a row. Gayle lofts two balls over the infield for two more fours in the over. Prithvi Shaw did it last night, hit six fours in an over. Gayle looks all set to become the third batsmen to do so in the IPL.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:58:49 IST
Four more
Back-to-back boundaries from Gayle. Slightly short of length and the Universe Boss threads it to the leg side for a second consecutive four.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:56:48 IST
Jamieson to Gayle: FOUR
There it comes, the first big shot of the evening from The Universe Boss. Lofts the ball and although it wasn't middled well, the ball goes for a four. Gayle is away, folks
Apr 30, 2021, 19:54:06 IST
Siraj to Rahul: FOUR
Shot, that from Rahul. Too straight and full from Siraj and the Punjab Kings captain is too good a player to miss that one. Shows the full face of the bat to play a crisp straight drive and get himself a four.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:52:17 IST
Change of ends for Siraj
His first over went for 10, so Kohli makes Siraj bowl from the other end. Starts off with a dot ball, followed by a single as Rahul glides the ball to third man. Alright then, this brings Chris Gayle on strike.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:50:16 IST
Jamieson keeps it tight
A wicket followed by three dot balls. But just three runs off the over. Kyle Jamieson off to a fantastic start against PBKS. They are 21/1 after 4 overs.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:48:48 IST
IPL, PBKS vs RCB: WICKET
OUT! Jamieson strikes, Punjab Kings lose first wicket as Singh falls. PBKS 19/1. Prabhsimran tries to give himself room but top edges the ball in the air which lands safely in the hands of Virat Kohli. Right then, RCB strike early, which brings out Chris Gayle.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:46:15 IST
Jamieson into the attack
So just one over there for Mohammed Siraj, as he gets replaced by Kyle Jamieson. Begins with a rank half-volley and he must consider himself lucky that Rahul hit to Virat Kohli, who certainly saved a four there.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:45:06 IST
Sams to Prabhsimran: FOUR
One bounce and into the fence she goes. Prabhsimran has been looking to go after the bowlers and he connects. Not the best timing on that one but enough to take the ball almost for six. Rahul not too happy with the shot as the replay shows but he sure would be pleased with the end result there. PBKS 18/0 after 3 overs.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:42:16 IST
Sams hitting the right line and length
Daniel Sams returns for his second over and continues to land the ball in the perfect good-length area. Two dot balls and a single. Already, the swing seems to have disappeared and Rahul and Prabhsimran can get things going.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:40:11 IST
Siraj to Rahul: SIX
And the skipper is away. Short ball from Siraj and Rahul brings out the pull shot in style for the first six of the innings. The bat made a crunching sound, and the replay showed the ball connected the sweep spot. Two overs gone, PBKS 13/0
Apr 30, 2021, 19:38:47 IST
Just three off the first over
Excellent start to the innings from Daniel Sams. There was pace, there was swing, enough to put doubt in the batsmen's mind as early as the first over. PBKS 3/0 after 1 over.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:34:03 IST
IPL, Live PBKS vs RCB: PBKS and Rahul off the mark
Swing on offer for left-arm pacer Sams. In the slot but Rahul is slightly circumspect and hits the ball straight to mid-off for a single. Slip comes out to midwicket. Prabhsimran on strike and the ball viciously swings back into the right-hander. Another single taken.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:32:08 IST
A Yorker to start proceedings
Full, straight and on the money. Daniel Sams starts the innings with a yorker. Dead on, spot on. Rahul got his bat down in time, losing his balance a little. Great, great Start. Makes the next ball jag back in slightly. The first two balls already posing questions.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:30:09 IST
Still no Gayle as opener
Well, it seemed for a moment that with Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle would open the innings with KL Rahul. But surprise, surprise, it's Mayank's replacement, Prabhsimran Singh who has walked out to open for PBKS along with his skipper. Daniel Sams to bowl the first over for RCB.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:28:10 IST
What if Punjab Kings lose this game?
If Punjab Kings go on to lose against RCB, it will put them in quite a predicament. They would need to win at least six games out of the remaining seven after this to have a shot at Playoffs. Needless to say, how other teams perform will also have a role decide PBKS' fate.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:24:25 IST
Captain Kohli delivers a little pep talk to his men
Virat Kohli's speeches are one of the best motivators one can look up to. His stirring speech ahead of RCB's IPL 2021 opener was quite something and although we can't hear them anymore, expect captain Kohli to fire up his army only in the manner he can.
Apr 30, 2021, 19:20:03 IST
Gayle or Maxwell? Who will fire against their previous side
It was during his tenure with Royal Challengers Bangalore that Chris Gayle made a name for himself in the IPL and went on to become one of the most destructive batsmen in the league. Similarly, Glenn Maxwell became the Big Show in the IPL for his performances for Punjab Kings. However, today, both players are playing for different teams, opposite a team they have earlier represented. Who will have the laugh... Gayle or Maxwell?

Captain's Corner
Virat Kohli: More confident now, we gonna bowl first. So the game last night, short boundary on one side. The pitch was two paced last night, so we want to bowl first. Shahbaz comes in for Sundar looking at the composition of their side. Even when you win games, you need to rectify stuff. We have stepped in with six or seven bowling options each game, so that gives me a lot of comfort and space. The bowlers have been on their mark, all credit to them.

PBKS vs RCB: Head-to-head
It's been a pretty up and down rivalry over the years between the two teams. PBKS won the first three games before RCB responded with four straight wins. The Kings peeled off five straight wins and Bangalore levelled it up with four of their own. But last year's double, where Rahul broke the record for the highest individual score by an Indian, has given Preity Zinta's side a slight edge. They lead RCB 14 games to 12 in the 26 matches played so far.

Can Harshal maintain historic run?
Death bowling has been RCB's biggest problem over the years and coming into the season, they didn't seem to have solve that riddle. Enter Harshal Patel, whose brilliant over against MI helped RCB in a last-ball chase. And although he lost his head when Sir Jadeja put him to the sword, the season rebounded with 2/34 against the Delhi Capitals. That put him well on course to break his teammate Yuzvendra Chahal's record for the highest wickets by an uncapped Indian in a single IPL season.

Hooda hunting for lost form
When Deepak Hooda hammered his highest IPL score in Punjab's season opener, it seems the PBKS had given Nicholas Pooran the cushion to play the finisher's role. However, six games later, neither batsmen in thriving in any role. Hooda has managed a highest score of 22 not out in the last four innings and scored just over a run-a-ball. With the season approaching its half-way stage, another failure might just see Pooran promoted back to No. 4, where he has a strike-rate of nearly 180 in IPL.

RCB look to avoid hat-trick of defeats to PBKS
The resilient Royal Challengers Bangalore saw off a late surge from the Delhi Capitals to earn their third final-over win this season. They have score to settle from last season, where they lost both encounters in the UAE in IPL 2020.

PBKS need to get their act together before it's too late
The Punjab Kings continued to struggle with the bat as KKR pounced on them to move out of last place. KL Rahul and company now have the three lowest first-innings total this season and are once again well off a place in the Playoffs at the moment. A win tonight promises to go a long way as Punjab Kings try and reduce the deficit between them and other teams.
