Right-arm fast bowler Chetan Sharma has quickly emerged as one of the most promising young pace prospects in Rajasthan's domestic pipeline. Born on November 23, 2005, in Kaman, located in Rajasthan's Bharatpur district, Sharma developed his game through the Bharatpur District Cricket Association before representing the state across junior age-group tournaments. His tall frame, clean release, and ability to extract genuine bounce from good lengths made him a standout during his transition to national age-group setups.
His national breakthrough arrived during the 2024 youth international season when he earned a selection for India Under-19 across multi-format series and continental tournaments. During the 2024 Under-19 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, Sharma served as a primary strike weapon with the new ball. His headline performance came during the semifinal against Sri Lanka Under-19, where he produced a match-winning spell of 3 for 34 off 8 overs (including a maiden) to dismantle the opposition's top and middle order and propel India into the final.
The 2025-26 season marked a critical transition into senior-level selection pools for Sharma as he refined his physical conditioning and expanded his repertoire with subtle change-of-pace variations. In September 2026, his domestic progress was rewarded with a spot in the Rest of India Under-23 squad for the BCCI Emerging Players Tournament against CK Nayudu Trophy champions Tamil Nadu in Chennai.
By October 2026, Sharma was drafted into senior state selection contention for the opening block of Rajasthan's 2026-27 Ranji Trophy campaign, entering his twenties positioned as one of Rajasthan's top long-term red-ball fast-bowling assets.
