Shubham Sharma

Born on December 24, 1993, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Shubham developed his craft through the competitive local leagues of central India, establishing himself as a fixture in the middle order with his compact technique, exceptional concentration, and sharp ability to absorb pressure.

Sharma made his first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh against Baroda in November 2013. Over the years, he evolved into an indispensable component of the state's batting lineup, blending orthodox stroke-play with a knack for playing long, defining innings. His multi-faceted utility also saw him chip in with useful right-arm off-break spells, highlighted by a memorable all-round performance against Bengal in November 2018 where he scored a crucial century and captured a five-wicket haul.

The pinnacle of his red-ball career arrived during Madhya Pradesh’s historic, maiden Ranji Trophy-winning campaign in the 2021-22 season. Sharma played a central role throughout the tournament, culminating in a magnificent hundred in the final against Mumbai that steered his team toward eternal domestic glory.

In the white-ball and franchise circuits, Sharma has continued to demonstrate his adaptability. He turned out prominently for the Chambal Ghariyals in the Madhya Pradesh League (MPL), playing instrumental match-winning knocks with a healthy strike rate in the middle overs.

Recognized for his tactical acumen and deep respect within the dressing room, Sharma's leadership qualities were further underscored in late 2026, when he was officially named to lead Madhya Pradesh as captain for the upcoming 2026-27 Ranji Trophy campaign, charging forward to guide the state into a new era.
