Shoaib Akhtar appointed Pakistan Cricket Board’s brand ambassador
Shoaib Akhtar announced on Twitter that he ‘was honoured to be chosen’ by the Pakistan Cricket Board and expressed confidence of taking Pakistan cricket to greater heights.
Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has been appointed as the advisor to the chairman on cricket affairs and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) brand ambassador, chairman Najam Sethi announced on Twitter.
Akhtar announced on Twitter that he “was honoured to be chosen by the PCB” and expressed confidence of taking Pakistan cricket to greater heights.

“Looking forward to work with @najamsethi and #pcb to take PAKISTAN cricket to the next level,” Akhtar wrote on Twitter.
“Am honored to be chosen for these positions in @TheRealPCB ,will work with same passion as i did when playing.Thank you once again! #ShoaibAkhtar #PCB #BrandAmbassador #Advisor”
Akhtar, who made his debut in 1997, played 46 Tests, 163 ODIs and 15 T20 Internationals – taking a total of 444 wickets.

He was the first bowler to break the 100 mph barrier, which he did twice between 1997-2011.
Throughout his career, Akhtar was involved in several controversies, often accused of not being a team player, but was also praised for being an impactful bowler.
Akhtar retired from international cricket after the 2011 World Cup.
