With just a day left for Varanasi to go to polls, the war between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters has apparently reached its climax.
On Saturday, AAP workers filed a first information report (FIR) against BJP supporter Yogesh Joshi for allegedly posting a picture of AAP workers peeling off posters from city walls on Twitter. The tweet accused the AAP workers for peeling off posters of BJP candidate Narendra Modi from the walls of Varanasi.
The AAP Dehradun unit clarified that their Tehri Lok Sabha candidate in Uttarakhand Anoop Nautiyal took the initiative to remove poll posters in Dehradun, a day after Uttarakhand voted on May 7 and the picture was posted on social networking sites. “We have lodged a FIR with police and has asked them to take action against the guilty under the IT Act,” said Arun Khatri of AAP.
