Molestation case against Harak Singh withdrawn

The woman who lodged an FIR accusing Uttarakhand cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat of sexual assualt has withdrawn the complaint.

Dehradun: The woman who lodged an FIR, accusing Uttarakhand cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat of sexual assualt, has withdrawn the complaint. The case has now been closed.Rawat’s public relation officer Vijay Singh Chauhan has confirmed the withdrawal of the complaint.

The case had created an uproar in the state, with opposition demanding the minister resignation. The controversy began when 30-year old woman from Meerut lodged a complaint against Rawat, alleging that he tried to sexually harass her at his flat in New Delhi in September 2013. She had later lodged a FIR in the same case.
