Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal reached out to city voters on Sunday by projecting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as the “only non-corrupt party” in Delhi, ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The AAP chief also said he would “soon” come up with a solution to the increased fixed charges on electricity bills and that AAP MPs would never allow Metro fare hikes and sealing in Delhi if they are voted to power.
“We have the lowest electricity rates compared to any other state in the country. Something will be done about the fixed charges which had marginally increased for some users in the recent tariff order issued by Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission. I am working on it,” the CM said.
Kejriwal was in Dwarka for the opening of a new SDM office there.
The Delhi CM challenged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs to list out their achievements and works compared to that of the AAP government. He also criticised the former Congress government led by then CM Sheila Dikshit. Kejriwal claimed that “no other party has ever thought of villages of Delhi”.
The Congress refused comment on Kejriwal’s remarks.
Listing out the works done by AAP government, the Delhi chief minister said that his government is going to launch its flagship scheme for doorstep delivery of services on September 10.
