Delhi set for a cloudy week, temperature to drop to 40ºC

Delhi temperature is expected to drop to 40 degrees bringing respite from the heat wave. MeT officials said the Capital could see a rainy and stormy week ahead.

Delhi woke up to a pleasant breezy morning on Wednesday. The temperature is expected to drop to 40 degrees Celsius from 45 degrees Celsius recorded two days ago, bringing some relief from the simmering heat for at least the next week.

The weather in Delhi is expected to remain cloudy with the possibility of thunder lightening and a thunderstorm for the week. On May 21 and May 22, the temperature is expected to dip a few degrees further with rainfall.

Officials at the meteorological department said that the western disturbances are expected to trigger thunderstorms and dust storms. “A drop in temperature to around 40 degrees is expected for the next seven days. The Capital witnessed hottest day of the season since 2015 on Monday at 44 degrees Celsius,” an official said.
