May 20, 2019 07:29 AM IST

In his complaint, filed at Delhi’s Parliament Street Police Station, Gupta mentioned a tweet he posted on Saturday.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and Delhi leader of opposition Vijender Gupta Sunday complained to Delhi Police against chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia for allegedly trying to “falsely implicate” him in criminal cases.

In his complaint, filed at Delhi’s Parliament Street Police Station, Gupta mentioned a tweet he posted on Saturday.

It read: “On May 4, Arvind Kejriwal had asked his liaisoning officer to relax the security deployed around his vehicle. By exposing that this fact was mentioned in the police diary, I did not let take the AAP take political advantage of the incident [referring to the incident of a person physically assaulting Kejriwal during a roadshow in Delhi]. Kejriwal was baffled and so now he says that his PSO [personal security officer] reports to the BJP.”

Gupta then mentioned Sisodia’s response: “The BJP wants to kill the CM. This tweet of Vijender Gupta proves that daily report of the CM’s security reaches the office of the BJP...”

Gupta added Kejriwal’s tweet later, which read:“Why the BJP wants to kill me? What’s my mistake? ...”

Gupta said, “The allegation that I am part of the conspiracy to kill Arvind Kejriwal is distressing and alarming. Political differences are in their own place. Unlike the AAP, we do not consider our political opponents are enemies.”

Senior police officers confirmed receipt of the complaint but did not elaborate on the matter. Despite many attempts, AAP spokesperson could not be reached for comment.
