NEW DELHI: The AAP government moved the Supreme Court on Wednesday against the Delhi high court ruling that the national capital was a union territory and the lieutenant governor (L-G) is its administrative head.

Delhi government’s senior standing counsel Rahul Mehra confirmed filing the appeal. “We have taken numerous grounds challenging the entire judgement of the HC as it was unconstitutional. Every finding of the HC verdict has been challenged,” Mehra said.

Earlier last month, the HC held the LG is the administrative head of Delhi and all decisions taken by its ministers must be communicated to him.
