Police said the body was stuffed in a jute sack and the limbs were tied. There were visible injury marks on the man’s body that suggested he was murdered somewhere else. The body was dumped in Jal Vihar colony in Lajpat Nagar to mislead the police.
A senior police officer said the matter came to light around 6am when an auto-rickshaw driver saw a human leg jutting out of the jute sack and called the police control room. A police team arrived at the crime spot and removed the bedsheet that was wrapped around the sack.
“The crime investigation team then came, collected the evidence and took some photos of the body. We have uploaded the photographs on ZIPNet (Zonal Integrated Police Network),” said the officer. A case of murder was registered at the Lajpat Nagar police station.
