Car buyers must have parking plans
GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad regional transport department has proposed that car buyers will have to submit a map of parking space at the time of registering their vehicles.
GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad regional transport department has proposed that car buyers will have to submit a map of parking space at the time of registering their vehicles.
Officials said the proposal is aimed at curbing the practice of people encroaching road space in colonies for parking cars.
“The proposal will be discussed in the regional transport authority’s next meeting. We have proposed that the two-wheelers be exempted from the rule. Car buyers will also have to furnish an affidavit along with the parking space map,” said Mayank Jyoti, regional transport officer.
“Car buyers will have to say on affidavit that they will not use public space for parking their vehicles,” he said.
He said the proposal is meant for cars registered at Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Hapur and Bulandshahr districts.
The regional transport authority had cleared a similar proposal in December 2015 for commercial vehicles that has now been implemented.
