NEW DELHI: DAV Arya Prabandhakatri Samiti and Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, organised a prayer meeting to pay homage to the martyrs of Uri attack. The event was presided over by Punam Suri, President, Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha and Arya Prabhandhakatri Samiti.

During his address, Punam Suri, in honour of the soldiers announced that their wards who are students of DAV Public School, Gaya will be provided with free education. Besides this, free education has also been offered to any other ward of the soldiers studying in a DAV School. Birla Vidya Niketan, Pushp Vihar, under its entrepreneurship programme, organised an inter-class competition with the aim to nurture young minds who are ready to revolutionise the business world.

During the competition, after several rounds, five finalists were shortlisted who were given Rs 10,000 and time of 120 days to advertise and sell their respective products and make profit out of it. At the end, based on the sales reports and other parameters presented by the finalists, the winners with their entrepreneurship projects titled Ddodle It, Shilpkarman and Threads of Tomorrow, were felicitated with certificates amid thunderous applause. G D Goenka Public School, Sarita Vihar, hosted its first inter-school literary event titled ‘ Goenkan Literazzi: The Festival of Language and Literature’.

The programme commenced with the welcome song and inaugural address by the Principal, Seema Sahay. The event comprised of various competitions namely, poetry writing and recitation, newspaper making, presentation of monologues from Shakespeare’s plays, short story writing etc. The event culminated with prize distribution ceremony where the rolling trophy was bagged by Manav Rachna International School, Faridabad. Vote of thanks was presented by middle school coordinator, Shalini Jain.

St. Mark’s Senior Secondary Public School, Meera Bagh, students visited Zhukovsky English School No.3, Moscow, as part of a student exchange programme. The programme was initiated under the guidance of Principal, Anjali Aggarwal, Director, Rahul Aggarwal and G. Rajan, Head, International Affairs. The students visited Red Square, places of historical interest like the Church of Saviour on the Spilled Blood, Peterh of Palace, Peter and Paul Cathedral.

Besides this, they also got the opportunity to visit the Embassy of India, Moscow and had an interactive session with G. Balasubramanian, Deputy Chief of Mission. The deputy chief during his address spoke about the relationship shared between the two countries and spoke about how the youth of both the countries can promote it further. The visit proved to be an educative experience for the students.
