This is the fourth suicide by a cop in less than two months.
Kamal Kumar, posted with the Police Training College, was reportedly suffering from tuberculosis. He was on leave for the past two weeks.
Kumar and his family had gone for dinner to his brother’s house in Keshavpuram. They decided to stay over and Kumar returned home, said a senior police officer.
When his family returned in the morning, Kumar did not open the door. “His wife broke open the door with the help of the neighbours and found him hanging inside his room. The locals rushed him to the hospital. He was declared dead on arrival,” a senior police officer said.
