The girls were with their male friends at the secluded place when they were spotted by the five youths. The youths beat up the friends and forced them to flee. The five then took turns to rape the girls, police said on Thursday.
Four suspects were identified and nabbed by Thursday night. The fifth, however, continued to be on the run, even as his identity was established by the police. The suspects and the girls lived in the same locality but were not known to each other, police said.
“A case under protection of children from sexual of fences( POCSO) Act and IPC was registered at the Aman Vihar police station,” Vikramjit Singh, deputy commissioner of police (outer), said.
Sources said a few of the suspects were minor boys and police were trying to ascertain their ages.
One of the victims works in a private company. Of the five suspects, one is pursuing an undergraduate course through distance learning. The other four are unemployed.
