NEW DELHI: Delhi water minister Kapil Mishra on Tuesday wrote to Lieutenant Governor Nejeeb Jung, asking him to issue directions for the registration of an FIR against himself and state anti-corruption branch head MK Meena.

The letter demands that an FIR must be lodged as neither Jung nor Meena had taken any action in four FIRs lodged against former chief minister Sheila Dikshit in the past two years.

Mishra’s letter comes after the anti-corruption branch named chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in the FIR in the water tanker scam for not submitting an inquiry report in the matter for eight months.

The four FIRs, Mishra said, were lodged on February 11, 2014 on the Bhagirathi Water Treatment Plant Rehab Project, the non AMR Meter Scam, AMR Meter and CWG streetlights scam.

“If any alleged delay on the part of the government in referring the matter to the ACB or in taking any action in pursuance to any report furnished to it by a committee is sufficient ‘cause of action’ for the ACB to register a FIR, [then] by the same analogy, an FIR is required to be registered against the chief of ACB as well as the Honourable L-G (since the ACB reports to Honourable L-G) for not taking any action upon the FIRs registered in the year 2014,” the letter states.
