The accused Laxman, a resident of Delhi, had murdered a class 12 student Aakash in south-west Delhi’s Kirbi Place in July along with his nine associates.

On October 14, the police arrested the accused from Dwarka’s Sector-10 after they received a tipoff that Laxman would come to meet his aides in the area.

Following the information, a team of crime branch reached the spot and apprehended him. During questioning, Laxman confessed to have committed the crime.

Police said Laxman was also an active member of Gaurav Jharera gang, which he joined to earn fame and make money. On July 17, Laxman along with his accomplices had beaten up 22- year-old Aakash to death with iron rods near Thimayya Park, Kirbi Place.

Ravindra Yadav, JCP (crime) said, “A case was registered and our teams worked round the clock to catch him. The accused was frequently shifting from one place to another.”
