However, the temperature remained low, providing relief from the heat. The maximum temperature was recorded as 32.4 degrees Celsius, four degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded as 27.2 degrees Celsius, a degree below normal. The humidity touched a maximum of 87%. According to the weatherman, the coming five days will barely see any rain.

On Monday, light rain has been forecast towards evening or night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be between 33 and 27 degrees Celsius. In the coming four days, again, very light rain or no rain is forecast.

“The monsoon system is not very strong right now and Delhi will have to wait another week for some good rain. The city will get higher than normal rain during the course of this monsoon, as per long range forecasts,” said a senior Met official.

Delhi has seen a long dry spell since October last year, with January and February seeing no rain at all. Since then, sporadic rain has failed to decrease the rain deficit.
