NEW DELHI: An Assamese student was allegedly robbed by three men, who forcefully entered her paying guest accommodation in south Delhi’s Kishangarh near Vasant Kunj area on Friday at 10.15am.

The men reportedly entered the house on pretext of asking for donation for a cultural programme in the area. As the woman agreed to pay and opened the door, the men pushed her and snatched her wallet that had Rs 2,000 in it. The men them allegedly threatened to come back to take more cash.

The woman raised an alarm and alerted the neighbours but the men had managed to escape by then. She then made a PCR call and informed the police.

“We recorded her statement and registered a case under appropriate sections of law. We have also recorded statements of the neighbours and her room mates. The investigation is on,” a senior police officer said.

The woman is a student of Mass Communication from a university in Assam and had come to the national capital for internship.
