While students were curious about the subject compositions in various courses, some still remained clueless about the process of centralised admissions in DU using the OMR forms.

“On the OMR form, you can choose as many colleges and courses. But every student, irrespective of what category they are applying under, must necessarily fill the pre-admission form that will be available from Monday. Without that they will not be considered,” said JM Khurana, dean of students’ welfare at DU.

Aspirants also sought answers to the foreign students’ admission criteria, with DU officials stating categorically that NRIs were not eligible to apply under the quota. Instead, they have to apply as general category students.

“An NRI student does not qualify to apply under the foreign students’ category. That is only reserved for foreign nationals,” Khurana added.

Parents and students present there were anxious to know about the tentative cut-offs for several courses this year, based on which they would decide the courses that they would seek admission to.
