The court also directed the jail superintendent to ensure that Paharganj resident Ajay, convicted for possessing a small amount of contraband heroin, remains in touch with his family during his imprisonment.
“In the facts and circumstances, it seems he has been used as a peddler by the drug mafia. His drug addiction seems to have been exploited and thus it is necessary that while imposing appropriate sentence, state is directed to interfere for his de-addiction,” the court said.
“State is directed to provide professional help for de-addiction of the convict during the period of imprisonment,” the judge said.
