10 new dengue cases in city

Ten new cases of dengue were reported in the Capital on Wednesday, taking the total number of people affected by the mosquito-borne disease to 98. Three of the people are from outside Delhi.

A nine-year-old girl from Sangam Vihar died of the disease at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where she was be treated for the past two weeks.

A 38-year-old man also died of the disease in the government-run Lok Nayak Hospital on Sunday morning, but civic authorities has not registered it as the second dengue death in the city because he was a resident of Loni near the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border.

The dengue serology report is also awaited of a man who died in Safdarjung Hospital on Monday.
