100-bed hospital to come up in Sarita Vihar
The Delhi cabinet on Monday gave its nod to setting up of a 100-bed hospital in Sarita Vihar. It also okayed the launch of the weekly iron and folic acid supplementation programme (WIFS).
The Delhi cabinet on Monday gave its nod to setting up of a 100-bed hospital in Sarita Vihar. It also okayed the launch of the weekly iron and folic acid supplementation programme (WIFS).
“The hospital will be developed as per green building concepts. It will provide round-the-clock emergency services, maternity services, surgical facilities and other specialty services for secondary healthcare,” said Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
In an attempt to combat anaemia among children, students of all government schools aged between 10 and 19 years will be given iron and folic acid tablets.
The WIFS programmes will also cover adolescent girls in the age group of 10-19 years through Anganwadi Centres where they will receive weekly iron and folic acid tablets every Wednesday. Besides this, children between 12 and 19 years will also receive deworming tablets.
