Sharma is currently hospitalised and is undergoing treatment at the Lok Nayak hospital after six days of treatment at west Delhi’s Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) hospital.

A P Singh, his advocate, claimed Sharma was not getting proper treatment within the jail as the doctors were on strike.

Special Public Prosecutor Dayan Krishnan denied the claim and said the doctors were on strike only for a few hours.

On Sharma being poisoned Tihar jail spokesperson, Sunil Gupta, said: “All these allegations are baseless.”
