17-year-old drugged, then molested by co-workers

In yet another incident of crime against women, a 17-year-old employee at an apparel processing unit in northwest Delhi was allegedly drugged and then molested by two of her male colleagues, on Friday evening, police said.

Meenu Chaudhary, deputy commissioner of police (northwest) said the incident came to light when the victim - a resident of the adjacent Azadpur area - approached the local police on Friday afternoon.

"She said that her co-workers - Ramu and Mukesh - both in their early 20s, forced her to consume a soft drink laced with alcohol before molesting her within the premises of their workplace on Friday afternoon," Chaudhary said, adding that the two accused had been arrested.

Police said as per the victim's written complaint, Ramu and Mukesh gave her a soft drink laced with 'a colourless alcoholic substance' when she complained of feeling flushed.

Police said the trio work as assistants at the said apparel processing unit.

"We have registered a case of molestation at the Model Town Police Station. Further investigations into the involvement of the accused in similar incidents is underway," DCP Chaudhary added.
