The robbery took place at 6.15pm on Chhatra Marg, close to the office of DU’s vice-chancellor when the victims were walking towards the Vishwa Vidyalaya Metro station from their college. According to the police, the girl’s friend, identified as Vikram Singh, sustained cut wounds when he resisted the attack on them. “On their way, two youths asked them to stop and part with their mobile phones and other belongings. One of the assailants put a knife on the girl’s neck when they refused to succumb to their demands,” said the officer. Singh, however, was reluctant to part with his belongings. The assailants assaulted him with a knife and forcibly took out his wallet and fled.
