A 22-year-old man allegedly committed suicide on Saturday by jumping from the Metro station at Sector 16.
A 22-year-old man allegedly committed suicide on Saturday by jumping from the Metro station at Sector 16.

The deceased was identified as Shakiv Hassan, who was living in New Kondli area of east Delhi. According to the police, Hassan was mentally disturbed and undergoing treatment at Delhi’s Holy Family Hospital.
On Saturday, Hassan, who was working with a private firm in Sector 63, went to see a doctor with his younger brother. While returning from the hospital, he asked his brother to go home as he was going to office.
The police said that Hassan went to the platform of Sector 16 Metro station and jumped from there. He was rushed to Kailash Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
According to eyewitnesses, Shakiv was talking over phone when the incident happened. “He was leaning against the wall while talking on his phone. We thought that he may have slipped. The station was not crowded when this happened," said Ashish Singh, an eyewitness. However, the police have not confirmed it yet.
