22-yr-old killed after bike hits tempo
A 22-year-old call center employee was killed when his motorcycle hit a tempo in Patel Nagar, central Delhi, on Saturday night. The family members of the victim claimed that he lay unattended for about half an hour while the police personnel engaged in a “jurisdictional tussle”.
The victim, identified as Vicky, worked at a Gurgaon-based call centre and was on way to office around 10 pm on Saturday when he met with the accident. Two friends were riding pillion on the bike. The accident happened near Satya Park police picket in Patel Nagar.
His family members said negligence by the policemen from Patel Nagar and Naraina police stations led to his death. Two policemen had called the PCR. “After the call, four PCR vans reached the spot and after having a discussion all of them left the scene saying that the area does not come under their jurisdiction. I requested them to take Vicky to hospital, but all in vain. Finally, I informed my friends who came with our family members and rushed us to Jankidas Kapur Hospital,” said Sonu, adding that the doctors at the hospital refused to admit Vicky, as it was a police case.
The hospital administration claimed that Vicky was already dead when he was brought to the hospital. Police said Vicky's friends did not make any PCR call and took him to hospital on their own.
