35-yr-old man found dead in rented flat

A 35-year-old man was found killed in his rented accommodation in Bindapur area of southwest Delhi on Saturday night.

A 35-year-old man was found killed in his rented accommodation in Bindapur area of southwest Delhi on Saturday night. Police said the victim, who is yet to be identified, had shifted to the house on Friday and had taken through a property dealer. The owner of the house, Rajbala, informed the police when she noticed foul smell coming out from the room.

"We had to break the lock of the door. The victim's hands and legs were tied and body was highly decomposed, which suggests he was killed on Friday only," AK Ojha, DCP (southwest) said.

Police said the victim was strangulated to death, as there were strangulation marks on his throat. In order to hide victim's identity and to mislead police, the killers had even disfigured his face with some blunt object.

"The property dealer had a copy of the victim's PAN card. But since it was a photocopy, we suspect it to be fake. The PAN card suggests that the victim is from Karnataka," Ojha added.

"The victim had shifted on Friday. Same day two of his friends had come to meet him and stayed till late in the night," Rajbala told in her statement.

Rajbala didn't even know the name of the tenant.
