50-year-old man injured in another Mercedes hit-and-run accident in Delhi
Commuters passing by informed the police control room after which the victim was rushed to the Safdarjung hospital with serious injuries.
While the Delhi police are yet to arrest the driver who lost control of his Mercedes car and crushed a 17-year-old boy on Sunday night, a similar hit-and-run case was reported on Tuesday afternoon in the city.
A 50-year-old man, who was crossing a road in south Delhi’s Moti Bagh, was hit by a Mercedes car.
Eyewitnesses said the car was at a very high speed and the driver was unable to stop even after seeing Dasrath Yadav crossing the road. Yadav works as a labourer at a construction site in Moti Bagh.
Passers-by informed the police control room after which Yadav was rushed to the Safdarjung hospital with serious injuries.
The car was reportedly coming from Gurgaon and going towards Ashram in south Delhi.
An investigating officer said they had identified the car, which was registered with the Noida transport authority.
Additional deputy chief of police (south) Chinmoy Biswal said the police had registered a case of rash and negligent driving at the South Campus police station and were trying to trace the driver.
