Catholic Churches across the world observed the Golden Jubilee of the opening of the Second Vatican Council on Thursday.

Catholic Churches across the world observed the Golden Jubilee of the opening of the Second Vatican Council on Thursday.

To commemorate the event, several priests and nuns had gathered at the Sacred Heart Cathedral to celebrate the same and inaugurate the 'Year of Faith,' which had also been declared open on Thursday by Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican.

"We thank God for the gift of faith that helps us live our life in peace, despite the difficulties we face in our daily journey of life along with many questions that arise in our minds," said Archbishop Concessao, while addressing the gathering.
