Seven persons have been arrested for using forged permissions to enter ‘No Entry’ zones and other violations related to entry restrictions imposed by Delhi Traffic Police across the Capital.

Following information of some vehicles plying in violations of terms and conditions on which permission is granted to them, traffic cops conducted a drive in various areas. They found 15 vehicles were plying either violating permit conditions or on the basis of permits issued last year, while some were using forged papers.

As many as eight cases were found flouting ‘no entry’ conditions, three were carrying permits issued last year and four had forged documents to gain entry into restricted areas, a release from Delhi Traffic Police said.

Restrictions are imposed on plying of goods vehicles on certain roads during specified hours and few are out of bounds for goods vehicles for all 24 hours. But vehicles carrying perishable and other important commodities are given annual permits to ply at any time in restricted areas.

“This year only 4,550 vehicles were given permission to transport perishable and other essential commodities within restricted areas and time,” the release said.
