While a united Opposition forced the adjournment of the Rajya Sabha once during the day, the Lok Sabha witnessed heated exchanges.
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal accused the government of shielding Tytler and Sajjan Kumar, another Congress leader.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister P.K. Bansal said the SAD “lacked courage” to speak against terrorism in Punjab and charged it with politicising the issue. In the Rajya Sabha, the Opposition stormed into the well of the House, shouting slogans “We want justice”.
