This unique scene was witnessed at National Highway number 2-Mathura Road from 4.30-6 pm when a group of 50 senior citizens and traffic police officials arrived at the Ajronda Chowk and started presenting flowers to traffic violators.

During the two-hour campaign, the traffic police stopped many traffic violators especially those who were driving talking on mobile, without wearing seatbelt, crossing red lights etc etc.

Surprisingly, instead of fining the violators, the elders presented them with roses, ensuring they don't commit such violations.

"Almost all the violators of traffic rules apologised and promised to follow rules," said Prathiba Sharma, 80, who presented roses to traffic violators on Thursday.

The campaign was launched jointly by an NGO Road Safety Organization in association with Traffic police, Faridabad.

"The idea was good and we are sure it will yield positive results," ACP Traffic Raj Kumar who was part of this campaign said. He also said that, "Instead of penalizing the violators during this period, the elderly people came forward to present them roses."
