Lucknow: The child was raped, killed and the body thrown in a field in Sitapur, allegedly by her cousin. Sanjay is on the run, but his accomplice, Sant Ram, confessed to the murder.

Resist and be damned
Bhubaneswar: A 17-year-old was thrown out of a running three-wheeler after she resisted molestation in Bhubaneswar. The girl, who had returned from Cuttack, had boarded the vehicle around 11 pm to go home. The culprits were two fellow passengers, said the girl in hospital. A manhunt is on.

Hospitals unsafe
Sagar: Three Class IV employees of the Sagar district hospital raped a woman in the hospital's toilet. When her husband confronted them, they thrashed him, said a police officer. All three have been arrested.

Escorts don't matter
Maharajganj: A 35-year-old woman and her husband were assaulted in Renghaia village while returning from work. The woman was subsequently raped by the three attackers. One of the men has been arrested.
