Soon after meeting RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur on Wednesday, 83-year-old BJP patriarch LK Advani left the issue of his being in the fray for prime ministership open-ended.
“I first became a swayamsevak, then a member of the Jan Sangh and then the BJP. What I have got from these organisations, my fellow workers and from the people of this country is far more than the Prime Minister’s post,” Advani said in reply to a mediaperson’s query.
Many in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and BJP have been uncomfortable with Advani’s decision to launch an anti-corruption rath yatra. They have interpreted it as his attempt to project himself as a prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. HUNT IS STILL ON

Advani took many in the RSS and BJP by surprise recently when he announced his decision to undertake a countrywide rath yatra from October 11 after party chief Nitin Gadkari said the BJP would not project any leader as PM candidate this time around.
