After meet, 3 pacts inked

India and South Africa have decided to broad-base ties and focus on improving trade relations, besides agreeing to extend support to each other for the UNSC non-permanent seat for 2011-2012.

After the meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and South African President Jacob Zuma, the two nations signed three pacts — on agricultural cooperation, an air services pact and an MoU between the Foreign Service Institute of India and the Diplomatic Academy of South Africa.

“President Zuma and I have decided to impart a forward-looking character to these ties,” Singh said.
