"There is no likelihood of any rain or thundershowers this week and it will largely remain hot and humid throughout the week," said a Met department official. The weekend though will bring good tidings for people with the Met department predicting another spell of rain.

"On Friday, because of the low pressure built throughout the week, there may be a spell of rainfall along with thunder that will bring down the temperature again," the official added.

While maximum temperatures throughout the week are likely to range between 39 and 41 degrees, the minimum temperature will remain between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. While the maximum temperature on Sunday settled at 37 degrees, the minimum stayed at 22 degrees.
