Reacting to the proposed Communal Violence Bill drafted by the National Advisory Council, Prasad said, "Whatever steps are required should be taken to wipe out communalism from the country. We are very much against communalism and this is my party stand."

He was speaking to mediapersons after attending a meeting of the National Integration Council here.

Asked whether the RJD supported the draft bill in its present form, he said, "RJD is very much against communalism. India is a secular a country and nothing should be done to flare up communalism. Communal forces should be buried."

About the conflicts between majority and minority communities, Lalu said, "There are many secular persons in the majority which are called non-Muslims."
