Ashok Chand, deputy commissioner of police (crime), said all the arrested women, who are in the age group of 23 to 28 years, had arrived in the country on a tourist visa.

“The girls worked for a lady pimp who is also from Uzbekistan. She has been operating in Delhi and the NCR for the past three years and has married an Indian national,” Chand said.

According to police, the girls were residing in GK-II, Safdarjung Enclave and Arjun Nagar and used to traffic girls from Uzbekistan to Delhi on a regular basis. “She arranged for their transport and accommodation. She would charge between Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000 per girl per night,” said DCP Chand, adding that only clients who came to her through a trusted reference were entertained.

A criminal case under the Immoral Trafficking prevention (ITP) Act has been registered against them. On July 18, the Crime Branch had cracked another racket involving foreign women in south Delhi's South Extension Part-I and arrested seven women.
