The six –day army commanders’ meet from October 21 to 26, to be chaired by its chief General Bikram Singh, comes at a time when questions are still being raised about the 15-day long gun battle in J-K’s Keran sector.

The infiltration attempt by terrorists, allegedly backed by the Pakistani army, took place on September 24 when a rotation of units was underway.

The army brass is likely to analyse this worrying trend, an officer said. Some recent brazen strikes on the army including the June 25 Hyderpora and September 26 Samba attacks, are likely to figure in the discussions, he said.

The brawl between officers and men of an infantry unit near Meerut, following up on the mountain strike corps to be raised along the China border would be discussed.
