The tribunal directed Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance Company Ltd, with which the offending vehicle was insured, to pay a total compensation of R18,34,800 to the husband and minor children of Jyotshna Dubey, who had died after a car hit her scooty on her way to school.
Dubey’s family had approached the tribunal seeking compensation, saying she had died in the accident after her scooty was hit on November 11, 2010, by a car.
They said 37-year-old Dubey, a primary school teacher, was going to the Army School in Ahmedabad cantonment area when the car, being driven in rash manner, hit her scooty.
