At 'Vidyarambham' (the beginning of education), a function organised by leading newspaper Malayalam Manorama, around 140 children were introduced into the world of knowledge on the occasion of Vijayadashmi.

'Vidyarambham' is a Hindu tradition where children between two and three years are formally initiated into the characters of the syllabary.

Besides Nair and Rao, Secretary to President Christy Fernandes also participated in the function.

This is the sixth time that Malayalam Manorama has organised such a function in the national capital.

The children who participated in the function were given certificates and gift boxes.
