Commuters may face hardships as a section of autorickshaw and taxi driver unions have decided to go on a strike on February 28. They say even after the apex court had directed the transport department to issue 45,000 permits to run new autos, the government had not yet taken any action. “Even after three months, the Delhi government has not issued any new permit to autos. We’ll go on a one-day strike from 12am on February 28. Both autos and taxis will not ply,” said Rajendra Soni, president, Bharatiya Pvt Transport Mazdoor Mahasangh.
